Private use constitutes using your vehicle for private use only, and this includes when you drive to and from work. Driving to and from your place of work daily is seen as private.
Business use is when your vehicle forms an crucial part of you being able to do your work. A good example would be reps, technician that drive from customer to customer etc.
Easy to understand, yet very important when taking out your insurance.
